About the Project
A HOSTEL ENVIRONMENT is a one-act comedy following Vitoria, a Brazilian solo traveler who celebrates her recent graduation with a carry-on backpack and a one-way ticket to Europe. For her first time abroad, she checks into an overbooked six-person dorm room in the heart of Tirana, Albania, along with a Turkish father on holiday, a pair of American honeymooners, two Australian backpackers, and an Irish day drinker. An evening of sharing travel stories is interrupted when a street riot confines everyone to their dorm room. In a dire situation, the dormmates find themselves quickly abandoning the pleasantries of travel.
