Brian is a killer. This show rocks. I had no idea what was supposed to happen or not happen. And I think Brian felt the same way. Rock star clown. We love to see him struggle. It killed me. Would see again! ... full review

Brian is a master of intention. The nuance he uses to express himself and his comedy is awe inspiring. This show felt like a wonderful meander through the wacko brain of his protagonist. Nonsense in the best sense of the word.... full review

A stupid show for stupid people. Brian Byrne is a very talented clown who very believably plays a guy who has no idea what he's talking about. From his short pants to the weirdest combover I've ever seen, he bumbles around stage for a long time. It feels like every bit is coming to him for the first time which rules. He has a great rapport with the audience, and I was rooting for him!... full review

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to like this. I've read A LOT of Chekhov and seen depressingly little of it and this was never my favorite piece. Chekhov is (similar to Brecht, but in a different way) really hard for Americans. BUT... this delighted me. Very smart choice on Brian Byrne's part taking advantage of the play's public domain status and making it his own. It was just delightful. ... full review
