The director introing and telling us how much Jordan knows about Europe and that all of the sound effects were done by him was a great way to kick off the show. Blocking was tight, great use of the stage space to tell a pretty BIG story. Jean Marco the seagull and his sick feet were a highlight. Some of my favorite parts were when the merchant was conversational with the audience because Jordan’s personality got to shine through.
What I didn't like
I wonder if the big scene where the king (?) gives the merchant the box could be tightened up. The joke is that the merchant wants to be a hero more than anything and it sets up well his intentions and how silly of a man he is. But if I remember correctly, less jokes were landing big in this part.
