In a world where most solo shows are so self-focused, it was lovely to just see someone pick a period in history they were obsessed with and play in that world for a while. I bet I’ll never again see a 30 minute adventure comedy about dark ages Venice, and if I do it certainly won’t be this purely delightful! I laughed until I cried twice. TWICE!
Another favorite element – Beforehand, I wasn’t aware of the comedic layer that this is “based on an unreleased podcasts” and would have sound effects the star, Jordan, had made entirely with his mouth. It was remarkable how something so Lo-fi increased the production value of the show so much.
What I didn't like
The audience size! Why wasn’t this show sold out and overflowing into the street! However, the solid group who was there was laughing so hard it sounded full as heck.
My overall impression
Maybe my favorite Fringe show I’ve ever seen! So unique I’ve almost had a hard time describing it, but so polished/tight and yet so silly.
