What I liked

The way Tyler kept the story’s momentum going with pre-filmed segments that also allowed him to change into his next character. These segments were very funny and didn’t feel like a break in the narrative, but a welcome addition.

I loved the arc! The character we first start the show with really starts to grow on you as he begins to face some of the other more sinister characters in the show. An incredible take on how the every man is distracted by Corporate Bullshit and male wellness influencer slop. Even though he isn’t innocent, the main character is humanized in a surprisingly nuanced way despite having his fly down for most of his appearances.

There is a monologue that the main character recites toward the end. I was so moved by it I actually reached out to Tyler and asked to read it again. I’m still thinking about it.

My overall impression

Maybe the most important commentary on the state of masculinity and the patriarchy. Tyler embodies multiple characters who fit into archetypes of modern men we all know, and hilariously gets to the root of why they act like that. With hilarious jokes, incredible physicality, and even some really profound and emotional writing, Extinction Burst is a must see.
