PERIMENOPARTY: The Welcome Party to a Stage of Life You Can’t Escape
Perimenoparty is a solo clown and physical theatre show about the social noise surrounding women over 40. Through alarms, giant menstrual pads, internet spiritual gurus, and video projections, the piece transforms perimenopause into a theatrical experience that is delirious, vulnerable, and fiercely funny. Performed in a mix of English, Spanish, and Spanglish.
The show follows Irene from her first period to perimenopause, moving through contemporary obsessions such as fertility, beauty pressure, the wellness industry, and the fear of becoming socially invisible. Little by little, all that external noise begins to take over her inner voice.
Perimenoparty is part of the artistic project Irene Serrano is developing in New York as a 2025–2026 Fulbright Performing Arts grantee. The show was created during her training at The Barrow Group and is presented free of charge in accordance with Fulbright scholarship regulations.

PERIMENOPARTY: La fiesta de bienvenida a una etapa de la vida de la que no puedes escapar
Perimenoparty es un espectáculo unipersonal de clown y teatro físico que aborda el ruido social que rodea a las mujeres mayores de 40 años. A través de alarmas, compresas menstruales gigantes, gurús espirituales de internet y proyecciones de video, la obra transforma la perimenopausia en una experiencia teatral delirante, vulnerable y tremendamente divertida. Se representa en una mezcla de inglés, español y spanglish.
El espectáculo sigue a Irene desde su primera menstruación hasta la perimenopausia, transitando por obsesiones contemporáneas como la fertilidad, la presión estética, la industria del wellness y el miedo a volverse socialmente invisible. Poco a poco, todo ese ruido externo comienza a apoderarse de su voz interior.
Perimenoparty forma parte del proyecto artístico que Irene Serrano está desarrollando en Nueva York como becaria Fulbright de Artes Escénicas para el periodo 2025-2026. El espectáculo fue creado durante su formación en The Barrow Group y se presenta de forma gratuita, en cumplimiento con las normativas de la beca Fulbright.
