So hard to describe why, let me offer this vignette: everyone is told to close their eyes, but not me, and the show, for this moment, is just for me and the performer has set themselves the task of making me, a single person, laugh which is the most unfunny set up possible and I am in my seat dreading not laughing and mustering the will to laugh artificially when I am hit squarely in the eye by a shoe, and it hurt. The premise for this shows feels like it came from a bit at a party that went on too long. With structure and direction this could become something, but for now its 45 minutes of unrelated bits and stilted audience laughter. ...
