About the Project
“Diane, Diane! The Parole of a Lifetime” is a one-person, audience-interactive show co-written and performed by Elissa Luma and directed and co-written by Natasha Mercado. Diane is a lounge singer who spent some time in the clink but found a way out (ratting on her cellie) and is determined to reclaim the spotlight! Using everything she’s got— pipes, sex appeal, wit, glamor, the laying bare of her torrid love affairs, and a relentless desire to be seen, she will find her rightful place once more amongst adoring fans. Whether you’re a girl, a gay, a they; or someone extremely important with a column, connections or cash, this John Waters-y show will be the crowning jewel of your evening.
Themes explored/content advisory: sexual themes, some hinted-at violence, substance abuse. A fog machine will be used briefly. Brief use of color changing lights (not strobing). Wheelchair accessible, please indicate with your ticket purchase so that possible obstructions may be removed in advance.
