What I liked
I liked how diverse and imaginative the costumes were, each one clearly telling its own story. The atmosphere was fun and inclusive, especially with the encouragement for audience participation and voting for Audience Favorite. The mix of performance, voguing, and runway presentation made the whole experience dynamic and entertaining from start to finish.
What I didn't like
The event could benefit from a bit more structure or pacing between segments, as the high energy sometimes felt a little overwhelming. A brief introduction or background for each featured designer or costume concept would also help the audience connect more deeply with the work being presented.
My overall impression
Runway: Showcasing the Best of Hollywood Fringe Costume Design 2026 is a vibrant, high-energy celebration of creativity that really captures the spirit of the Hollywood Fringe. The event feels more like a living art performance than a traditional fashion show, with a strong mix of theatrical expression, bold design, and playful experimentation. Interestingly, the dynamic and competitive atmosphere also reminded me a bit of the excitement you get in a game like Retro Bowl, where every moment feels engaging, fast-paced, and full of personality.
