What I loved most about Hot Stalker was how engaging the entire performance was. Every few lines there was either an eruption of laughter or an in unison gasp from the audience. The performer clearly knew that her material was walking this fine line of hilarious insanity and utilized projected graphics, physical props and incredibly storytelling to keep those watching on the edge of their seats.
What I didn't like
No notes, I was thoroughly engaged from beginning to end.
My overall impression
Hot Stalker is the kind of show that keeps you delightfully off balance. The first half has you convinced that the title refers to the woman on stage, only for the second half to pull the rug out from under you and reveal a completely different reality. Equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, the show masterfully blurs the line between truth and perception. Just when you think you’ve figured out what’s real, another twist leaves you questioning everything!! The storytelling is edgy, vulnerable, and deeply engaging, balancing laugh out loud moments with genuine emotional depth. A clever, captivating one woman show by the incredible Yasi Mousavi that lingers long after the lights come up.
