What I liked
The venue, the intimate crowd, the music – basically all the choices were perfect for the feel of the show. I’m a big fan of the interactive play and the high energy that Maddie brings.
What I didn't like
I think I’d like it to be longer, so that there’s more of it to watch. I do think that the short time frame presses the action forward in a fun, frenetic way, but I can’t help but want to see more dolls.
My overall impression
Doll Court immediately took me back to the floor of my childhood bedroom, sifting through my menagerie of dolls to create the perfect dramas. I loved getting to be apart of the show. Maddie continued to surprise me throughout with new ideas, characters, and energy shifts. Maddie’s creative partner punctuates the performance with sound effects throughout, that just add to the fun.
