This play is so incredibly relevant and heartfelt while also tackling the beauty of magical realism. Everything from costumes to set pieces felt like they came out of a child’s imagination, a sort of lightning in the bottle experience. Everything character held their place in the story while never overstaying the welcome.
What I didn't like
There were only some small issues with the piece, mostly coming down to the many scenic changes. Sadly, they slowed down the pacing of the production. While some of them were necessary to the plot, others were not. But this is such a minor detail and shouldn’t take away too much from the amazing performance I saw.
My overall impression
Somos Aires is a technicolor dream, warning of a dire future but never letting hope die.
