What I liked

The writing perfectly encapsulates how female friendships evolve and the struggles with wanting closure on relationships that you just simply might not get. The writer just gets this aspect of humanity so well. The acting, particularly of our two leads Ximena and Jason, is fantastically on point. The play knows when to cut the tension with a joke and balances depth with humor so so well. I also love how not everything got resolved or wrapped up easily, which felt so much more real than if everything had gotten resolved, and that felt super smart.

What I didn't like

All the characters were so well thought out and developed I would have loved to know
more about some of the other side characters!!

My overall impression

WEDDING PARTY is a hilarious and heartfelt look at adult female friendships!! With a stellar cast and incredibly strong writing, this is a must-see this year at Fringe!!
