What I liked

The actors who played Ximena and Jason were superb. Their chemistry was also so natural and palpable. The heart wrenching story played out beautifully with these two characters, and I was so happy for their ending. I cried many times watching this play because I deeply connected with the subject, and I believe many more will.

What I didn't like

I think the projections did not serve the script, I think we would have done fine without them. I felt similarly about the Act I transition music. I also really liked the moment Ximena described all 4 of the friends and they entered the space; I think there could be opportunity for more moments like that, where the characters figuratively enter the room during Jason and Ximena’s fights. I really look forward to seeing where this play goes.

My overall impression

I loved this play. A fresh, new story about something felt by nearly everyone (maybe especially women…). The almost psychotic need to make amends with ex friends who don’t deserve it. I was hooked by the two lead characters and happy to watch them go through it all. Ximena was a wonderful character to root for.
