About the Project
On her 40th birthday, Jenn—hopelessly obsessed with Mr. Darcy—is visited by Jane Austen herself, who steps out of the literary world to confront her. Determined to break Jenn free from her romantic illusions, Austen conjures the iconic men of Pride and Prejudice, each embodying a different fantasy Jenn has clung to in her search for love. As these figures test her desires, expectations, and patterns, Jenn is forced to reckon with her past relationships and the ways she has measured real men against fictional ideals. Blurring the line between imagination and reality, this play journey follows Jenn as she learns to release Mr. Darcy and discover a deeper, more authentic love within herself.
