I loved Hannah’s confidence in herself and her choices — relying on subtlety, she adapted to the energy of the audience and commanded us to laugh an tear up in just the right moments, the skills of a gifted storyteller.
What I didn't like
I wished that more of the stage was incorporated into the show, especially given the stronger elements of the production.
My overall impression
V.I.P. is Hannah’s poignant, honest reflection of her life in entertainment through the character Abigail. Her sharp and vulnerable writing comes through a well-crafted performance strengthened by her witty improvisation. Her hopes and fears as an artist come through clearly in this beautiful slice-of-life story that felt like catching up with an old friend.
