What I liked

The various performances of Mr. Scott-Heron’s music and poetry by the incredibly talented artists including his absolutely glorious daughter, Gia were each unique and heartfelt. What an incredible legacy he has graciously left us.

What I didn't like

The show was brief and left me wanting more. To that end I am looking forward to experiencing the long version that is currently in the making.

My overall impression

Gil Scott-Heron Bluesology is a powerful piece that held my attention from the first beats of Victor Orlando’s percussion to the final curtain. I was transported to the 1960’s and finally educated on the true story of the passion, creativity and heart of the Black Power movement.
