What I liked
The significance of hair to one’s identity. I never really thought of how important hair might be in a queer person’s journey to full self-expression. It’s especially hard to make that transition when you are known as a person with amazing hair. So many moments in Kel’s journey reminded me of my own partner’s path. My partner also had coveted hair before they cut it lol, and their top surgery experience is eerily similar to Kel’s. I got to see the show with my partner, and I couldn’t help but cry at Kel’s experience. I feel like I know my partner more now, which is not something I expected!
What I didn't like
I think there were some tech issues at our show, but that is it! Incredible show. Honored to have seen it!
My overall impression
Beautiful, touching show. An honest, bright, and silly exploration of the queer journey. Kel generously shares their heart with us, and tempers these raw moments with their unique humor and voice. Never a dull moment. I hope they continue doing this show, because I’d love to see it again (in a larger venue pls)!!
