What I liked
This was an amazing way to spend a day I normally dread to come; almost teared up at times as Madi was damn near making eye contact to my face while getting support (literally and figuratively) from the audience. This topic is nuanced; there’s still unregistered feelings, layered memories, and grappling to figure out why is it like this. We know why, but it’s difficult, and for Madi to create something so aligned still with her work, yet so vulnerable felt like a hug in the whole room. We’re here on this day because we relate, but we relate because we have love in us. We relate because wanting to receive love is only a part of the pain.
Thank you for reminding me that we’re all each others’ Fathers on this day, hope you continue finding expression through your art<3

My overall impression
Absolutely insanely close to home but unfortunately my ‘father’ was just a capitalist ):
Madi evolves her comedy to stage format, portraying a satirical rendition of the “alpha bro” manosphere breakdancing father of abandonment. With turns in the story to make this comedic portrayal into deep rooted grounds of a person dealing with a person dealing with the trauma of abandonment, a feelings of betrayal.
