The themes of healing through community and finding unexpected similarities and lingering memories with the relatives that you’re estranged with really came through. There were lots of fun moments of audience participation.
What I didn't like
I was at the preview and assume more refining will be done, so taking my feedback with a grain of salt, it felt like the transitions could be shaped a bit more between the satirical / fictional bits and the meta/true-story bits.
My overall impression
This was a funny, confessional, and insightful show without being overly navel-gazing. What makes Madi’s sketches work is deepened here with more emotionality and earnestness. Both performers gave it their all and were so playful and sweet.
