Great performances, great command of tones (shifting from small-town-where-everybody-knows-each-other comedy to endearing romance to tense interpersonal drama). Lots of big ideas thrown in, religion and first love and the town’s own faintly gothic history.
What I didn't like
I want to hear Danica’s true-crime podcast!
My overall impression
A small-town mystery that’s very funny and very moving. When a teen named Eli goes missing in the woods around the small town of Greyhaven, a search party goes into the forest to find him. Knew we were in for something special when the program included a map of Greyhaven (lovely Tolkien allusion!) and the ensemble does an excellent job bringing Eli’s friends, family, and loved ones to life (plus a couple strangers and questionable opportunists).
