I liked the sparse staging, which helped us focus on the words being said (of which there are many- shocking he can memorize so much monologue!), but the small amount of set design does add to the movement and dynamic of the piece. I very much enjoyed Marks’ songs played near the end, which were both poignant and lovely. I also appreciated Marks’ tongue in cheek nod to the makeup of one person shows and how they are formed.

My overall impression
This was a heartfelt, funny, vulnerable show by a consummate artist and performer. I’ve long respected Marks for his truthful and unique storytelling ability, and this show does not disappoint! See it!
