This is an amazing show. One of my favorites in a very full lineup of Fringe greats! Seamless, fluid, dynamic and clear-eyed; this one will grab you when you least expect it. Stefan is a masterful writer/creator with an insane amount of ability and self-deprecating charm. His understanding of craft and structure is what sets this production apart from many others....

What an outstanding show! Beautiful, connected, funny, grounded, professional and fully on-point. I experienced the entire spectrum of emotions during this show. One of my absolute favorites from this years fringe offerings. A truly high-quality piece of art. ...

Stefan writes for people who wonder 'how the hell did I end up here tonight', and then shows you exactly why. He pops all the sacred bubbles of theatre, and makes you giggle, and feel, and appreciate it the whole way through. This show is absolutely worth your time and money!...

From the jump, the audience knew they were in capable hands. While many one person shows may suffer from an earnest energy that begs to be understood, Stefan’s indelible writing and performance style puts you at ease. As his sincere and self-deprecating tone seamlessly moves from sharp observations of the creative process, and this awkward thing we call life, to a meaningful and painful recollection—we are deeply invested. Stefan seems to inherently understand how to walk the line of delivering unassuming humor and honest pain without it ever feeling indulgent or without purpose. ...

This is what I posted to social media: "I was lucky enough to see this show last night. One hour, lovely writing, beautifully acted. Stefan Marks is mighty talented. You know how you pay a lot of money to see mediocre theater? Support little theater in L.A. and do yourself a favor and high tail it over to see this...but hurry!"
I don't often suggest theater, or much of anything else, to anyone, for a variety of reasons. But Stefan Marks in this show is easy to do. As a novelist, I am completely impressed with his sense of story and the decisions he made to tell it perfectly. Plus, oh, my, he is such a capable actor.
I need to add that I was a guest at the performance on 6/19/26...

A brilliantly performed, superbly written tribute to an incredibly special life. From lights up, the show is packed with surprising moments that turn this one-man show from a meta-satire of shows like it, into one that may very well have a far greater impact on you than the rest. A roller coaster ride of fearless emotion, laugh out loud comedy, and deep truths about what it is to be, well… human - without ever being precious or maudlin. The hour unfolds like an Instagram biography of a man searching for meaning in the meaningless of life. And after deep examination and intense curiosity, he finally comes to the inevitable, surprising conclusion, hinted at in the show’s brilliant title. As good a one person show as you’ll ever see. ...

When Stefan Marks creates theater, he does not imitate life, he relives it. His words may come from his mouth, but they originate in a sacred place within his broken heart and tell a truth so profound it relieves the soul of its burden. Protected feelings released from the vault-like crevices of his inner life are rebirthed into an evocative vocabulary that announces an unapologetic freedom of consciousness as playwright merges imperceptibly with actor. This fusion surely has always been there, but never as expressive as it is in this single mesmerizing hour of pure humanity about a man and a woman.
