I loved the three (four?) main characters, their relationships to each other, and the development of each of them as a person. The dialogue is witty and clever, and their points of view are well-rounded and three-dimensional.
What I didn't like
The play and characters have a very progressive feminist perspective (which I liked), but for that reason it bothered me that the main characters spent SO much time talking about the men. I understand that Powell, though dead, seems to loom over them, but I couldn’t help but feel that Alison Bechdel was looming behind him. For instance, I would have liked to be introduced to Cleo earlier and seen what that relationship was like, which also would have given us a break from Talking About The Man.
My overall impression
An interesting look into interpersonal relationships and the debris left in the wake of problematic men.
