My overall impression
Last night I went to see Keena Ferguson in her one woman show KEENA UNBRANDED. I tell you what, the show is phenomenal!
The show grabs you from the beginning. In a very creative way she tells us what she is going to tell us. Then she tells the story – not always just using her words, Keena beautifully uses her body to convey emotion no words could.
The various ways music is infused adds dimension to keep the audience engaged throughout her journey. Then there’s the actual story.
I have respect for anyone who can write an engaging story, but I have mad crazy respect for Keena telling such an excellent story that is so extremely personal. As I sat there watching and listening to her I could only think how cathartic it had to be to first write it and then perform it over and over.
If you have been thinking about going to see this play, do not let the opportunity pass you by. Not only will you be supporting Keena, but you will be treating yourself to high-end theater.
