Ben doesn’t shy away from going dark, seamlessly moving from silly wordplay to deeply grounded and human stories about his relationship with his late father. He also incorporates his musical talents into the show in a highlight song that’ll get stuck in your head. Millennials will also appreciate all the pop culture references!
What I didn't like
Ben is at the beginning of the journey with his show, and I know he is working on ways to clarify storytelling to keep the piece alive for future festivals and audiences! I look forward to seeing its next life.
My overall impression
Ben Fisher’s Ball Boy is an endlessly charming and hilarious exploration of familial connection, grief, and well, balls.
