What I liked
I like the combination of stand-up, storytelling, characters, and music. The premise feels playful while still touching on issues that are becoming part of everyday life. A one-person show also puts a lot of focus on the drift hunters performer, so Sarah Albritton’s comedic energy and ability to switch between different characters seem like a big part of the appeal.
What I didn't like
With so many technology-related topics, the show could potentially feel a little packed. Giving the strongest ideas and characters enough room to develop would help the humor and message land even more effectively. Overall, though, it sounds like an entertaining concept with plenty of room for clever comedy.
My overall impression
Beauty and the Bots sounds like a fun and timely solo show that mixes comedy with some genuinely interesting questions about technology and the future. The idea of exploring AI, robots, self-driving cars, surveillance, and what it means to be human gives the show plenty of room for both laughs and thoughtful moments.
