Every character was beautifully cast. Brittany Pirozzoli’s performance as Alice was like watching a master dancer. This was meant to be a farce, and she understood the assignment and delivered.
This play is famously considered “not good.” Apparently no one told the actors. Huzzah to every performance!
I’d also like to shout out the lighting choices. It can be easy to shrug off the lights with the excuse that you’re in a shared Fringe space, but this show did all it could to create atmosphere and use the lights they had to tell their story.
What I didn't like
Anything that could be improved is not the fault of the performance but the limitations of what Fringe is, so just keep up the great work, everyone!
My overall impression
What makes this show such a pleasure to watch is that it shouldn’t be this good. I knew that it would be in capable hands, having seen the work of The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company before, but in the hands of director and adaptor Gus Krieger, not a moment is wasted on stage. Every character was meticulously crafted and must have received total support and unwavering encouragement in their choices. Huzzah for such great direction by Krieger!
