The show certainly resonated with me due to the timeframe in which it is set. My coming-of-age journey, and the trials and triumphs of being a child, teen, and young adult finding herself in the LGBTQI community closely matches David’s. It’s a hilarious, touching, warm, and intelligent account.
What I didn't like
I truly can’t find anything to point to for improvement.
My overall impression
David Pavao’s theatre work never ceases to amaze and delight. Poster Child: How Charlie’s Angels Kicked My Ass Out of The Closet is an absolute gem of a solo show. Both incredibly funny and equally moving, it’s a wonderful coming of age piece that particularly struck home for me as another child of the 70’s and early 80’s finding my true self in this fantastic age of television. However, the humor and endearing pathos is aimed at a much wider audience, which was evident given the diverse audience mix present when I saw the show and their overall enthusiastic reaction. I can’t wait to see what David might have for us in the years to come. Bravo David!
