This show is one of the bravest, if not THE bravest one I've seen at Hollywood Fringe - an unflinching reveal of how her marriage disintegrates. Mimi does something very unique: she tells her story without defensiveness nor justification. She admits she stayed too long after the lies, and she makes no excuses for it. Mimi Collins wrote and performed a phenomenal show. I was with Alix every single step of the journey. I understood why she stayed with her husband and deeply empathized with her optimism that he could change, which made it all the more devastating after each betrayal. I appreciated each time Alix, a badass modern woman, implied that if she could just satisfy her husband, then he wouldn't HAVE to cheat as if she was taking subconscious responsibility for his fidelity. It was vulnerable, nuanced moments like this that kept me thinking about the play long after I left the theatre.
