The script was witty, humble, accessible. The actors were skilled and believable
The singing was beautiful
I liked the actual information about the romance novel biz too
What I didn't like
The only thing that ‘didn’t work’ was the constraints imposed by the time availble and the physical limitations of the theater.
My overall impression
This is a playful, skillful, affectionate presentation of the cultural phenomenon of the romance novel. We careened through the flushed arousal, character stereotypes, and plot templates with joy and amusement. So fun! The playwright and actors were in control and we could relax and go for the ride.
