What I liked
I really loved the music and the writing. This is a really clever comedy in a very fun and specific world and the playwright knows it well. But she lets the audience in on the joke. You don’t have to know the ins and outs of romance novels to understand this world.
What I didn't like
The show was a hit. I don’t think there is much to improve as evidence of the audience laughing and cheering the whole time. I think you could play with one more romance genre. Perhaps period romance to dip into another world. But it works as is. Bravo!
My overall impression
Lustily Ever After is a riot! I laughed from start to finish and the music is AMAZING. Performances were incredible, production was so creative. This musical is the kind of show that reminded me of what good theater should be. The writing is smart, the story is fun, the music is a hit. Keep an eye on this one.
