What I liked

I loved the storytelling video components like the quick histories of Dione’s mom and of her dad. I liked the game show parts that revealed what weird items Dione’s dad had at the house.

What I didn't like

I would like to see more character impressions toward the end of the show, back to back the way the show started. Like how in the beginning there were the different type of women, a character reel at the end could be the different versions of Dione. Act-outs of versions of Dione where she’s hurt, hiding, and then healed. Maybe!

I also wish we had gotten some explanation of why Dione and her family were in deep Texas, since we all know Dione lives and works in LA. Is that where her parents retired to? Is that where he ex-husbands family lived?

My overall impression

Please Don’t Cry is an absolute must-see at this year’s Fringe! It delivers hilarious jokes and tugs at the heartstrings as Dione explores some of the darkest times in her life. The three big loses she experiences would debilitate anyone, and Dione takes us through her journey with the love, loss, and hopefulness needed to see through to the other side of it.

This show definitely serves as a vital reminder that life is precious ,and to laugh amidst the tears. Bravo, Dione!
