Silliness reigned supreme in Nilbog and that was fine by me. Though I am familiar with the source material, the opening number perfectly summed up everything the audience needs to know about Troll 2 before starting this adventure. The ridiculous story was hilariously performed by a very large and all-around talented cast and was interrupted by fun moments of audience engagement like a game show and a chance to throw popcorn on stage. While there wasn’t a single week link in the cast, some standouts for me were the grandpa with all his spiritual bluster, the douchey boyfriend, and the perfectly vacant mother. It was a great time!
What I didn't like
The only thing I can think of, because I enjoyed the moments of audience interaction, would be to have a few more.
My overall impression
Super fun romp and a great way to experience one of the worst movies ever made. The cast really brought the audience together by building a Rocky Horror-esque atmosphere that was entertaining from start to finish. It had everything I’d want from a late-night show.
