What I liked
The execution of the story was beautiful! The set design and script captured daily life in a way that was so romantic and realistic. The whole world felt cozy at times and simply too real at others. Evelyn-Claire Smith evoked a story with every bit of the melancholy and joy that a great jazz track can evoke. The whole play felt like poetry and jazz coming to life and slow dancing.
What I didn't like
The arguments were too good! I had to squirm in my seat and hope my partner wasn’t reliving some of our arguments! (Some of Alex and Alma’s moments sounded a little too similar!)
My overall impression
This show is perfection! I want jazz players to follow me around and play all my inner thoughts! The set design was incredible and I’m obsessed with the use of all the paintings! The characters felt so intimate and complex, Evelyn-Claire really captured some lightning in a bottle in the way the conversations flowed so seamlessly from daily relationship life to striking a chord (literally).
