What I liked
Penina’s confident performance of her own coming-of-age story invites the audience to consider questions about faith, mental health, and national identity with insight and humor. She doesn’t shy away from the most challenging aspects of her experience in the Israeli army—the personal and the political.
And, most of all, she fearlessly embraces the CRINGE! Don’t miss this must-see!

My overall impression
Had the pleasure of seeing this during its initial run in NYC and was fortunate to catch it again for its West Coast premiere! This show is a very rare theatrical opportunity in 2026 to engage with some very challenging and relevant issues and it does so with deep perception and sensitivity.
