What I liked

• The classroom style screen images enhanced the show immensely. All of them! This lecture/presentation/educational format was a really nice tie-in to Penina’s assignment in the IDF and her lifetime of being taught in school a certain narrative about Israel.

•The changing of clothes created interest and intrigue. Stripping down was an effective metaphor.

• Red lights to signify dark times and thoughts. The quick return to white lighting.

• The voice of Penina’s mom at the beginning. Perfectly set the tone to enjoy the show and a signal this was gonna be unique. Nice touch!

• The cackle used twice was effective. At first, after the sandwich reference, I didn’t get it. When placed again, it was brilliant! Masterful!

•The humor throughout!!! So funny!!! Such a good balance when things were about to become heavy and intense. And throughout, SO MANY good lines.

What I didn't like

I can’t think of anything except maybe parking. And it was warm in the theater with the hot lights. As far as the performance, everything was really excellent! I appreciated the brevity. “Timing is everything”. If shows go too long they loose their effectiveness. This timing was perfect!

My overall impression

Excellent and engaging! This show held my interest and attention the entire time. It was like reading a good book with a main character you become attached to because they draw you in with their warmth, authenticity, humor and unique story. The presentation style and content is very special, like nothing I’ve ever seen before.
Penina’s use of honesty and humor throughout made her so lovable. I wanted to hear everything she wanted to share.
