About the Project
Welcome to Prickly Pear Patch, a tiny town out West where the cowgirls are rough and tumble, the barkeep is tough and humble, the saloon dancers get rowdy, and the tumbleweeds* say howdy.
This rollicking melodrama is full of romance, villainy, and new takes on classic Americana folk songs. Audience participation is encouraged! You are genially invited to cheer, boo, and sigh along. BRING THE KIDS!
Our villain may be a lady, but that won’t stop her from twirling her mustache and swirling her cape! Our damsel may be a manly man, but that won’t stop his broad shoulders from drooping in distress! And our hero may be a commitment-shy cowgirl, but that won’t stop her from riding to the rescue with the best of them!
Will there be song and dance to set your toes a’tapping? You betcha! Will there be nonstop jokes and fun? Absotively posolutely! Will there be a thoughtful reflection on gender in today’s society? You be the judge!
*There will be no talking tumbleweeds in this production.
