My overall impression
Overall, “White Elephant” has a strong script and a lot of potential. Had I known beforehand that it was a reading, I may have waited to see the show fully on its feet. I also do not think it is necessary to have a narrator onstage, as there are a few moments where that choice distracts from the actors. Still, the writing and acting are strong, and I am interested in seeing this again once the cast is fully off-book and the production is completely staged.
