I loved Paris’ third act monologue (fifth act? this is Shakespeare after all) and all the internal rhymes. That’s some Lin-Manuel Miranda shit and I can’t get enough of it. Super funny and silly, but also kinda heartbreaking at times. I was utterly charmed by Paris’ bizarre mating dance – thank god I signed that waiver!
What I didn't like
Nothing! He knows what he’s doing! :)
My overall impression
Charlie takes a character we barely care about in one of the most famous plays ever written and imbues him with humor, heart, pathos, and oh, did I mention humor?! He’s a master Shakespearean actor who’s also busting out the best dance moves at Fringe! I never thought I’d care about Paris but, thanks to Charlie, he might just be my new favorite character in Romeo & Juliet.
