About the Project

Versions of Her is a solo piece built from real interviews with Kerry, a woman living with seven autoimmune diseases and a terminal dementia diagnosis.

But this is not just her story. It’s also the story of what happens when a man is trusted to tell it: he is pulled into a world most men never have to confront.

An AI calmly fabricates her life. Doctors and institutions spend years denying her pain and minimizing it into something more manageable. As he pushes back, the man telling her story realizes he isn’t outside the system, he’s part of it.

Using Kerry’s recorded voice, verbatim text messages, projected “evidence,” and live performance, Versions of Her moves from intimate portrait to courtroom and back. It asks who gets to say what’s real when a woman says she’s in pain.

And what it costs to realize you were helping the system, not fighting it.
