What I liked

Mandy Rubelli as the Dinosaur gave a gripping performance from the second they walked on stage. Their constant moment-to-moment exploration of the new world around them was so exciting to watch. I fell in love with this creature- so curious, fierce, protective, and with such childlike wonder and innocence.

Faith Saporito as Trace was a standout grounded performance. Faith brought directness and a hard exterior that only a cooler-than-you tween could have access to. Her earnestness broke through towering emotional walls- a tall order that Faith Saporito fills beautifully. The intensity, comedic timing, and spectacular delivery she brought to the character elevated this already tremendous piece.

Incredible writing and performances all around. Bring this show back to LA please!!!

What I didn't like

I was a little worried about the actor who gives themself a slap on the face. It just looked like it hurt and I hope it didn’t!! <3 <3
BEAUTIFUL performances all around. Go get em at Edinburgh!!

My overall impression

Grounded, whimsical, hilarious, and heartbreaking.
This show dives headfirst into the complexities of trauma and healing around it. Dinosaurs so beautifully navigates lingering harm that lives in the body…and outside of it. Dinosaurs masterfully balances the line of comedy and drama with impeccably timed humor that doesn’t dare to detract from the generous vulnerability that this piece demands.
