What I liked

I really liked the staging and the acting. The bad guy was so charming and textured.

What I didn't like

At the performance I saw, there was at least one issue with the lighting changing and leaving the actors a little bit in the dark for a small piece of the scene. But it didn’t look like it was planned to be that way. I assume it was just a mistake for that one performance, because the rest of the lighting was great. It is a live show after all!

My overall impression

Punish Me was an engaging story about a gay relationship like I’d never seen before. There was nothing cliche about it. Just two people, who both happen to be men, in an everyday toxic relationship. I also enjoyed the commentary on the challenges of immigration in today’s America.
