Michael is a good actor who, despite speaking English as a second language, delivered a great performance. The subject matter was heartfelt and affective. You will feel something.
What I didn't like
There was really only one note I came away with which was “What is the essence of this story?”
It’s possible that 7 to 15 minutes could be trimmed as some of the material seemed demonstrative rather than focused on the essence of the plot, which, for me, was that a very sensitive and talented child, abused by his parents, comes to the United States in pursuit of a dream and is railroaded by a narcissist—putting him, perhaps not ironically, through the same abuse he experienced at the hands of his caregivers.
That’s the story for me.
Some of the scenes, and one character in particular, seemed expository (maybe signaling what happened in real life rather than simply moving the core story along). This, however, is just one dude’s opinion so take it for what you will. The main thing I think you should know is that this is a very strong show and that you will not waste your money. Great work.
My overall impression
Super positive show, though difficult at times to watch due to the heartbreaking material.
