The history, the facts & the news clips (a reminder that all of this is REAL), the burlesque numbers were terrific, the costumes were stunning (and I’m a STRAIGHT guy and I noticed – that’s how good they were), Peyton’s likeability, Peyton’s bravery, Zander was a part of it
What I didn't like
The audience, like me, were a bunch of white folks. We were TOOCHICKEN to join Peyton when she asked us to join her on stage to dance. I am rhythmically challenged, so I was TOOCHICKEN like the rest of the audience to seize this particular day. I will always regret that. BRAVO to Peyton for giving us more credit than we deserved.
My overall impression
An Unforgettable Immersive Comedy Burlesque Dance through the Flames
Peyton Ashby’s one-woman show is a knockout combination of passion, education, burlesque, music – and sheer – literally and figuratively – bravery. I loved it all, but I loved her message the most: we can only get through this Hell together. And I loved the irony – coincidence? – that someone the same age as the Messiah dressed as the Devil taught us all about kindness. Bravo, Peyton. Keep doing what you do.
