The focus on the audience was so intense and absolutely made me feel like I was in the cellist’s chair. Which is a terrifying experience—like being under the interrogation lamp.
Watching the cellist squirm and implode, only to have his nightmare feel like it’s stuck in a loop—claustrophobic, funny, great!
I loved the recorded elements too. So strange and intense and hilarious—kind of a microcosm for the whole show. Like an old Adam Sandler CD with an extra dose of sincerity.
What I didn't like
I could see a longer version!
My overall impression
An externalization of the experience a young artist has at the hands of an unpredictable and abusive mentor. Hilarious, dark, physical, vulnerable. And totally unpredictable. I felt WATCHED during this show, as if I was in the cellist’s chair. Fantastic.
