I really liked all of the new additions this year with the new act and what felt like a very satisfying resolution to the other acts of the show. The humor is so strong in this show – even when things feel serious, Drew’s writing lets you know it’s okay to laugh and still feel the drama of the situation at hand.
What I didn't like
Nothing to me – I said before that I wanted the show to be longer and my wish was granted!
My overall impression
The dream team of Brandon and Drew are back this year better than I’ve ever seen them before. I was lucky enough to enjoy the first iteration of this show years ago, and it has always been one of my favorite shows because of interesting and funny this concept is. It’s the perfect commentary on politics without feeling like it gets into some of the most dreadful of today’s politics – and does so with so much heart and humor that Drew and Brandon could take the audience anywhere in this show and we’d still love it. Seeing the entire cast able to reprise their roles added such a wonderful layer to the acting and directing, being able to see the joy that each actor had in getting to play these characters again and develop them more – the kind of joy you’ll often see from sitcom actors. Drew and Brandon are my duo to watch when it comes to theater in LA because they never once disappoint!!
