An incredible concept - the unreliability of subjective memory and trauma - the soulful unraveling of a belief that the answer to pain lies in the past, delivered playfully and honestly by Boyle should stick with any audience for days or weeks. How can we give our own past such a playful treatment? Boyle may have the key.... full review

As an avid puzzle lover as well, I was immediately hooked with this show. Boyle did a great job pulling us in with the premise, and leading us into a deeper story, well still easing us in gently with humor, before we really got to the meat of the climax. Well written, well acted, and a fun way to perform a one woman show!... full review

ESCAPE ROOM was a delightful surprise from Fringe this year!! I was a walk-in and had little context and came away so thrilled that I saw it. What an incredible performance and a moving experience. Boyle is a phenomenal actor who grounds the hour-long show so well, taking the audience through her memory. Fun, moving, and powerful--add this one to your lists!!... full review

In Escape Room, Emily Boyle brilliantly explores a traumatic event and the guardrails that get put up (subconsciously or not) in order to process it. This powerful, fast paced solo show examines love, relationships, memory, and power as it plumbs the depths of what it means to survive and keep going. Equal measures of heart breaking and life affirming! ... full review
