What I liked

Written and directed by Ryan Lisman, a licensed professional clinical counselor who draws on his experiences working in a psychiatric ward, the difficult subject matter is approached with the knowledge and sensitivity that only an insider could have. The acting is incredible as the cast covers a wide range of emotions.

What I didn't like

The patients in the psychiatric ward were wearing regular socks. I wanted them to be wearing grippy socks.

I say that only because I really can’t think of anything major that could be improved.

My overall impression

Many complex subjects are covered in this tale of love blossoming between a young man and a young woman who meet after being committed to the same psychiatric ward, from family dynamics and genetic predispositions, to the side effects of medications. Beneath all of it is a deep love and concern for each other, hopes for a future together, and a fear of what they know about their own and their families’ pasts threatening to hurt that love.
