Loved everything about it. Performance, writing, how it’s separated into “quatrains” like the sonnet itself. Thoroughly entertaining ride and both me and my partner had different favorite moments—one that resonated deeply with me was the idea of being in touch with your anger. And the idea of how finding love is often connected to finding yourself. Also the payoff of how the sonnet comes back at the end brought the audience to tears. Also great detail at the end playing “Take me to church” (it’ll make sense once you see it!)

My overall impression
Incredibly entertaining and moving one man show. Eric has mined the “T” (truth) from his real life experiences into an honest, funny, insightful, heartfelt show. His performance is amazing—somehow both raw and self-aware. Confident in what he’s sharing but also self-deprecating and funny. The play is a tightly written at 60 minutes with so many great details and callbacks. The final one had the audience gasp.
